The Greek word is hēmarton — a past tense, completed action. It's not a tendency or a struggle. It's a settled reality about the human condition.
And "fall short of the glory of God" — that's not just about behavior. It's about being. We were made to reflect God's glory, to image Him in the world. Sin didn't just make us do bad things. It fractured the very thing we were designed to be.
